The dance of my life
I was born and raised in Germany, as the third girl in my family. From a young age I was drawn especially towards the arts. From childhood I began dancing, following the guidance and inspiration of my sister, who brought me to my first true dance teacher. Karin Hermes-Sunke could teach me dance beyond the physical realm. After graduating from my dance study in AHK Amsterdam/Netherlands, with the Diploma for Modern Dance, I further engaged in studies in Meditation, Spiritual Practice and Energy Work. I graduated from BPI Berkeley/California as Referent C. Stieber in the United States. At “Center of Unity – Schweibenalp” in Switzerland I learned Puja service in the tradition of Heradhan Babaji, holding Aarati for Shiva and the Divine Mother. I was working at the same time on research towards my own expression in dance, as well as holding public performances and counseling. By an inner inspiration, I invented this art of sacred dance in February 2002. My inner search for truth and my natural way of expression via dance were my motivation for founding “Dance of the Heart”. Ever since, I share this continuously unfolding art with other people. Bridging different cultures, spiritual groups and human hearts, and strengthening the connection between the soul and its source, is a matter dear to my heart.
Between 2004 and 2011 I used to live half of the year in India. My base there is in the Ashram Bamhori, which is close to Khajuraho, a city famous for its historical temples and internationally known dance festivals. I have been invited to participate within these cultural programs, such as Shilpgram dance festival.
In the later years networking with Ananda Ashram and it´s Awakening Arts Academy in Assisi/Italy have developed and increased. Yearly workshops and a danceritual have been offered here, where I could encounter extraordinary resonance, validtation and support.
Another dance family of mine, lives in the Kibbuzim Neot Semadar in a desert oasis in Israel. The spirit of this community is very close to my soul. Here we have an intimate study groep since several years. Besides those pools, I offers my dance worldwide in various presentations.
A couple of years I lived in an old farmers house in Bavaria, which I started to retore, together with Thomas Sittler. We could hold first seminars there. Yet, the path kept unfolding and I was meant to leave this home. Several years of service at the “Center of Unity” at Schweibenalp, Switzerland followed, where I did the temple service and was gifted with the experience of community life. After another couple of years there, I started my filmproject “Moving into the Infinite”. I became director, producer, distributor and even tourmanager of a half a year Event Cinema Tour through the German Art House Sceene.
Now, I am looking forward to return back to the practice: exploring the dance and passing on the gifts I have been given.
My life is one of dedication to dance, spirituality, and bridging hearts, traditions and cultures.
