Only from the heart can you touch the sky. — Rumi
ascending
A whirling dance offering
Explore the dimensions of sacred dance, its community and join us on pilgrimage!
what has been, what may come
Our ascending project began last year with a performance at the Diakonie Church in Salzburg Aigen/Austria, with invitations to spontaneous dance-prayer contributions in the Catholic Church in Koblenz and in Verena Minster in Bad Zurzach in Kanton Aargau/Switzerland ( e.g. Herr Deine Liebe und Himmel, Erde, Luft und Meer), as well as with a very special inauguration celebration of Bordei Ecovillage&Sanctuary in Ticino/Switzerland.
This year on the 21st of June.2026 we celebrate the official opening of our group project ascending. It is a living connection between inner dialogue and performance. It unfolds as an interactive, mutually inspiring dialogue between the practitioners in their practice—and those who come as the audience.
what is
Both dancers and witnesses stand as if before an open window, from which they may look outward—and inward. At the summer solstice we wish to gather and celebrate in as large a circle as possible—together with all who have been whirling with Paramjyoti, whether for many years or only recently, and with those who come as witnesses to watch, listen, and inwardly participate, whether for a brief moment or for the full 90 minutes.
participation
If you feel drawn to actively join the public whirling ritual in June—or at any time beyond—you are warmly invited to reach out to us. This coming weekend, we are also offering an introductory whirling course, which could be a gentle first step for you.
Beyond that, Paramjyoti’s Devadasi – Dance of the Heart school offers private lessons and guidance, as well as support for self-organized groups. We would be delighted to hear from you if you wish to explore these opportunities >>

Dance is immediate, at once revealed and mysterious. By pointing toward the invisible, it brings the intangible into experience. – Paramjyoti
